美同步聲明挺臺迴歸WHA 陳時中英文朗讀兩段文字「感謝美方協助」
第73屆世界衛生大會（WHA）視訊會議落幕，臺灣仍被排除在外，臺美雙方19日晚間同步發出聲明指出，世衛組織本年因政治因素再次未邀請臺灣參與WHA深表遺憾。陳時中今（20）日記者會特別用英文朗讀2段美方聲明文字，內容不但讚美臺灣防疫成績與國際社會貢獻，也呼籲WHO應該將臺灣納入，陳時中說，臺灣和美國雙邊往來，這是首次見到這麼有力的稱許我國。

第73屆世界衛生大會（WHA）受到疫情影響改爲兩日（5/18、19）視訊會議，美國、日本以及各友邦都在有限時間內替臺灣發聲不過，會議中也決定於今年底復會（實體會議）時再處理由臺灣14友邦提案，籲世界衛生組織邀臺灣參與世界衛生大會的議題。陳時中表示，昨日世界衛生大會閉幕，臺美雙方同步發出聲明，特別擷取兩段文字與大家分享：
「We must recognize Taiwan’s successful COVID-19 response and their continued efforts to assist other countries with personal protective equipment donations and technical assistance. The world should admire and learn from Taiwan’s contributions to combating this pandemic.」
「The United States strongly urges the WHO to return to the practice of inviting Taiwan to participate as an Observer to the WHA. The exclusion of Taiwan from the WHA must not continue. The United States also urges the WHO to systematically engage with Taiwan health experts on COVID-19 and beyond. The global community must learn from Taiwan’s experience from COVID-19 and do more to include them.」
內容提及應認可臺灣對抗新冠肺炎的成功，並援助其他國家提供相關防護裝備、技術援助等努力，國際應該欽佩並向臺灣學習防疫經驗。
陳時中表示，聲明除希望臺灣可以參加WHA之外，也希望我們各類專家可以參與相關活動，從臺灣經驗做學習，陳時中也提到，臺美往來這麼多年，美國從未對臺灣如此稱許，也感謝美國發表這樣的聲明。
