IE用戶打死不退 微軟安全專家跳出來呼籲「麥擱用啊」

微軟(Microsoft)的產品要退役，似乎難度都比想像來得更高一些。隨着 Windows 10 市佔逐漸提升的同時，微軟卻面臨着還有一票使用者堅持愛用「Internet Explorer」(IE)瀏覽器的窘境。而這到底多困擾他們，或許從微軟內部網路安全專家都要跳出來呼籲，就可以略窺一二。

衆所周知，微軟在最新的 Windows 10 作業系統中，捆綁的是 Edge 網路瀏覽器，然而根據《NetMarketShare》網站統計，桌面端的網路瀏覽器市佔中，除卻第一名的 Chrome (64.635)，佔據第二名的居然是老舊的 Internet Explorer(10.49%)。這真的讓微軟情何以堪，忍不住跳出來向用戶喊話，要求他們不要再用了！

微軟網路專家 Chris Jackson 近日在 Windows IT Pro 部落格中以「The perils of using Internet Explorer as your default browser」(使用IE作爲預設瀏覽器的危險性)爲題，特別向使用者呼籲現在是時候應該停止使用 IE 來上網了。他表示「IE 是一個相容性的解決方案，並不支援最新的網路標準。雖然目前仍有許多網站能夠(在IE中)正常執行，但是大多數開發者都沒有針對 IE 進行測試。此外，隨着新應用程式的出現，僅使用 IE 會讓使用者錯過越來越多的網頁。」

Internet Explorer is a compatibility solution. We’re not supporting new web standards for it and, while many sites work fine, developers by and large just aren’t testing for Internet Explorer these days. They’re testing on modern browsers. So, if we continued our previous approach, you would end up in a scenario where, by optimizing for the things you have, you end up not being able to use new apps as they come out. As new apps are coming out with greater frequency, what we want to help you do is avoid having to miss out on a progressively larger portion of the web!

對於 IE 到目前爲止還有一大票用戶「愛用」，《Forbes》記者Gordon Kelly 認爲，微軟必須要負很大的責任。因爲微軟拒絕在 Windows 7、Windows 8、Windows XP 這些系統中支援 Edge 瀏覽器，而這些作業系統在 Windows 10 推出四年之後目前仍舊擁有合計超過 50% 的市佔。換句話說，他認爲微軟是太早替 Edge 瀏覽器挖了一個墳墓，因此無法順利的擺脫 IE。

The big mistake came from Microsoft’s attempt to force users to Windows 10 by not releasing Edge on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows XP. With those three operating systems still commanding almost a 50% market share four years after Windows 10 was released, Microsoft ultimately dug a premature grave for Edge rather than putting Internet Explorer out of its misery as anticipated.
